This workshop is ideal for any artists working in any media who have hit a creative block or those wishing to enrich their studio practice.
Offered as a 2 day or 5 day long workshop, students will be guided through the design process, into developing a thematic body of work in their own style.
The aim of this workshop is to set artists back on the path of creativity.
BEGINNER TO ADVANCED WHEEL THROWING
Building on the foundations of throwing basic forms, this workshop will advance your technical throwing skills.
Gale will pass on tips and techniques acquired over years as a production potter.
THROWN AND ALTERED DOMESTIC WARE
Designed for the intermediate thrower, this workshop builds on basic throwing techniques to alter cylinders, plate and bowl forms
into contemporary altered works.
THROWN AND ALTERED SCULPTURAL FORMS
Using the basic thrown forms to build one-of-a-kind animal or abstract sculptures in clay.Students will start with a basic introductory
shape and advance as fast as their skills allow to more complex forms. Follow along with the instructor or bring
your own ideas to create unique thrown and altered sculptures in clay.
HAND BUILT FIGURATIVE FORMS
Using the basic hand building techniques of coils, slabs and modelling students will build one-of-a-kind figures in clay.
This workshop is intended for the intermediate to master level potter desiring to expand their hand building skills.
BEGINNER TO ADVANCED HAND BUILDING
This workshop is for students wanting to build vessel and sculptural forms using coils and slabs.
Additional decorative techniques will be taught to add textural interest.
COLLOGRAPH PRINT MAKING
Using a collage of materials, students will be guided through the process of making a printing plate used to create prints.
This print method will produce visually appealing prints with or without a printing press.
